An open letter to my body, from my mind

Hey,
I know I haven’t always spoken to you kindly.
I’ve criticised you. Compared you.
Pushed you to exhaustion.
Told you we weren’t enough unless we looked like her.
I treated movement like punishment, and called it discipline.
I thought shrinking you would make me feel safe.
I thought being smaller meant being more worthy.

But I’m learning. Slowly. Gently.

Now, I move so you can feel strong.
I stretch so you can soften.
I rest so you can repair.
Not because I’m trying to earn it, but because you deserve it.

You’ve carried me through so much.
And you were never the problem.

So from here on out, we move together.
Not for a snatched waist.
But for a snatched mind, clear, grounded, and rooted in our worth.

This is the start of something softer.
Something more powerful.
